From the baggage claim at the airport, you are only 30 minutes to white sandy beaches. Bowditch Point Regional Park is a less visited park that provides unspoiled look at Southwest Florida before any development. You may see Gopher Tortoise, dolphins and a variety of bird life among the mangrove estuary.
Koreshan State Historic Site is one of the more popular areas for camping and nature. Located on the Estero River you can rent kayaks and paddle. It is not uncommon to see manatees.
Estero is convenient to any of the other outdoor activities mentioned in the Naples and Bonita Springs area. Generally, you are only 20-30 minutes from these other communities, so enjoy them all!
